For an October visit, choose “Forever Grateful, Golden Gate Park” at the San Francisco County Fair Building, 1199 9th Avenue—not Haight Street Art Center’s gallery. The park exhibition opened September 5 and runs through October 25, 2026. The earlier Haight Street exhibition’s announced closing date was September 20. San Francisco Recreation and Parks confirms both runs.

The free Grahame Lesh & Friends opening concert was scheduled for September 7 in Robin Williams Meadow. That Labor Day event is past, and its free admission does not describe regular exhibition access. The city identifies the continuing exhibition as ticketed. Opening-event details
Exhibition prices and hours
Secret San Francisco’s visitor listing reports tickets starting at $23.11 and hours of Thursday–Tuesday, noon–4 p.m., excluding Wednesdays. These are published planning references, not a confirmed checkout quote: check the available session and final price in the official booking flow before arranging your day. Do not use the organizer’s general gallery hours for this different venue.
The exhibition combines historic objects—including the original Furthur bus and Jerry Garcia’s BMW—with a liquid light show, storytelling installations, crafting and live performance encounters. October conversations and concerts
The remaining listed conversations begin at 6:30 p.m.: Grateful Art on October 6 and Wall of Sound on October 13. Both Eventbrite pages showed sold out on October 1; check for any availability change rather than arriving without an RSVP. Grateful Art status · Wall of Sound status
The organizer’s concert schedule lists Gospel on October 1, Classical Gets Weird on October 5, Born to Soar the Sky—a Bobby Weir birthday tribute—on October 16, Bluegrass Roots on October 18 and Midnight North on October 22. Each has its own booking link on the concert-series page. If you want both music and the full exhibition, check the show’s admission terms rather than treating them as interchangeable visits.
Get there without crossing the park
Use County Fair Building, also called Hall of Flowers, as your destination. The organizer’s gallery address, 215 Haight Street, is not the park venue. Park venue address · Gallery address
For a car-free approach, the N Judah stop at 9th Avenue and Irving Street puts you near the exhibition’s 9th Avenue address. Walk north toward the park instead of starting at a distant entrance and crossing it. SFMTA stop details Recreation and Parks states that the building’s lot is for loading and unloading, not visitor parking. County Fair Building rules
Keep the rest of the outing around 9th and Irving in the Inner Sunset. In wet or windy weather, make the exhibition your main stop and skip a long park walk. For mobility accommodations or sensory concerns around sound and projections, contact the organizer through the ticket page before booking.
